A few friends and I decided to take a week long trip to Lisbon in Portugal in the last week of June to celebrate the end of our second year of uni. We were all incredibly excited to go to the Portuguese capital and see what it had to offer, not knowing what to expect. This is what we got up to.
Categorised as a Religious Organisation on Facebook, The Bass Race is a Lancaster-based night event that showcases fresh bass music from the worlds of house, dubstep, drum & bass and beyond along with graphics and artwork from young artists.
On Wednesday 5th October, The Bass Race took over 'Glow Rooms' for a night of madness celebrating Lancaster University's freshers week. This is what I captured.
Just a short video looking back at a short trip I took with some friends to Oslo in Norway in April. Really beautiful and vibrant city. Would recommend to anyone
The other day I decided to buy a DJI Ronin M gimbal stabiliser. A Ronin M acts in the same way a steadicam does: it stabilises footage to produce a smooth video, like a camera on a dolly track. This video is my first test with the gimbal.
Went on a little trip with my family to Greece to do some sailing the other week. Here's a short recap.
The Lancaster University Cheerleading Society approached me and asked me to put together a video to help promote their society. The video is due to be sent to potential sponsors to convince them to back the squad. This is what I put together.
Over the three day event, I filmed as much of the tournament as possible and put together short videos at the end of each day. On Facebook, these videos reached over 55,000 people and were viewed by 14,225 students with 1503 interactions (Likes, comments, shares etc). The response was astounding and caused a surge in page likes from 250 to around 550. The aftermovie, released on Facebook a couple weeks after the events, was also well received - reaching 57,833 people and being viewed 30,190 times with 1637 interactions.
Roses 2016 was a huge success for Lancaster, with the University finishing the weekend with 216.5 points against York's 138.5 points. Relive the weekend with the official aftermovie.
A huge thank you to everyone that helped with the creation of this video. 3 months worth of work has accumulated in this video and I cannot thank everyone who had a role in helping put this together enough.
What is Roses?
Roses is the annual varsity between Lancaster University and the University of York.
As part of my degree, I created these fake advertisements showing internet providers offering privacy bundles to new customers. The idea stems from the 2013 leak of government documents by NSA contractor Edward Snowden. It addresses how privacy in the future will begin to be offered as an add-on to existing services, as opposed to a basic human right. The small print on each poster negates the notion that purchasing these bundles grants users more privacy, making reference to the new investigatory draft bill being proposed by Theresa May and the damaging insight this will have for the privacy of British Citizens. Each poster was created on Photoshop and has been submitted as part of my work for third term.
